A message from the President

Dear Century Community Football Family;

We know it is a bit early to talk to you about football but we were compelled to do so especially given what's been going on in our community with the Century High School youth football program. Most of you are aware now that there is a second youth football program that has been started in our community. We know that you have been inundated with many emails over the past weeks and months that have left many of you confused and wondering what's going on and why. There has been a lot of misleading information and unanswered questions and we hope to offer a simple resolution in three short statements.

First, we are Century Community Football and have been the approved youth football feeder program for Century High School for over fourteen years and continue to be so! We have the complete support of the Century Football Coaching staff as well the Athletic Director and Hillsboro School District Athletic Department. The other program does not have the support of the high school but will be using the Century name, logo and colors.

Second, we are a founding member of the Pacific Youth Football League of Oregon along with three other like minded high schools in our community and beyond. We have developed a youth football program that is based on the theory of age appropriate fields yet adhere to each schools game plans and culture. We are all inclusive for players in the third thru eighth grade; we will never hold try-outs and all will play on a team. We believe in teaching a winning philosophy based on fundamentals and not a "win at all costs" mentality.

Third, since Century Community Football is the approved program our players will have full access to the Century equipment and fields for practice and games. They will have an opportunity to meet the high school coaches and attend a Spirit Camp where Varsity players will be working directly with them, teaching them not only football plays but also the Jag Spirit! Also, only our players are invited each year to attend an event we call Friday Night Lights. This is a fantastic opportunity for the youth players to join the JV and Varsity players at half time during a home game on the football field at Hillsboro Stadium and do the "Jumping Jags" in unison under the lights and in front of all the fans! It's quite a sight to see and a memory that will never be forgotten!

Century Community Football has a newly elected Board that brings experience, enthusiasm and knowledge to our league! All of our Board members and coaches are volunteers, no one is paid. We would like you to take an opportunity to review our 2011 registration form and medical wavier. Please note that we have an early registration discount for you to take advantage of. If you have any questions regarding our program, upcoming events or just want to learn more about us please visit our web site at www.centuryyouthfootball.com. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us at jagyouthfootball@yahoo.com.

Finally, Century Community Football is going into our 15th year stronger than ever! We look forward to continuing to provide a high quality football experience at the most affordable price in the area. Our coaches are trained each year by the Century High School coaching staff to ensure they are teaching our players the necessary skills and fundamentals to be successful and compete at the next level. Thank you all for your support and GO JAGUARS!!!
