ABOUT
OUR PROGRAM
PLAYER INFORMATION All players will be issued the following gear on gear issue day (please refer to important dates): Shoulder pads, helmets, mouth guards, football pants, pads, and belts will be issued and returned to the CCF program immediately following the last game of the season. Players are responsible for their own cleats (football, soccer, or baseball are acceptable). Players must also provide their own practice jersey (dad’s extra large T-shirt works perfect for this). If you have shoes your player has outgrown and would like to swap for a larger pair bring them along on gear issue day and you are welcome to “trade up” for a larger size. After registration your coach will call you with information regarding practice times and location. Except when otherwise stated, all practices will take place at Century High School. You can expect grades 3 through 6 to have 2 practices a week with games on Saturday at Century High School, Forest Grove, or Glencoe High School. All 7th and 8th grade players will practice 3 to 4 days a week with games both during the week and on Saturdays. Your coaches will give you a schedule as soon as it is available. We believe player development is key in building a program where players WANT to come back and play again. Our high school coaches believe in starting with the basics of football and progressing to a more comprehensive football program. Like the area baseball programs we progress at each level to a larger field. We begin our 3rd and 4th grade players on a smaller field with 8 players. This teaches our boys proper techniques in tackling, running with the ball, throwing the ball, and simple football plays. As the player progresses to the 5th and 6th grade they move to a larger field and 11 man football, once again building upon and learning plays taught in the 3rd and 4th grade and more advanced techniques and skills of each position. Once they reach middle school age they are ready for the full field and full on football just like the high school teams. We are very proud of the program we have built within the Century community. Quality football equipment is important for the safety of our players and we pride ourselves in ensuring we have the best for our kids. Fundraising is an important aspect of any program, especially when trying to keep costs to a minimum. We will respectfully ask every family to participate in the fundraising efforts of the program to ensure we have what we need for our kids. If you are interested in assisting with any of the many volunteer opportunities
we have and being part of Century football community, please feel free
to contact any one of the board members and we will find a spot for you.
We look forward to seeing you this season. |
