COACHES NEEDED!

Being a coach is a very rewarding and challenging opportunity! It is also a great way to spend time with your child and his friends! While coaching my children I have developed relationships with them and their friends that not all dads have the chance to do. I have been a coach for Century Youth Football for seven years and have also coached football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling for almost 20 years in the Hillsboro area at different times. If you are interested in coaching, below are some details on events that you would be required to attend. Please e-mail me if you are interested in taking the role of a Head Coach or Assistant Coach for the 2009 season.

• This year we will have a coaching clinic given by Bill Smith and his coaching staff. This clinic will help you understand our program expectations, as well as covering our philosophy, base offense/defense, daily drills, and fundamentals. All of which are used daily by our high school staff. Coach Smith always has some “FREE” Jag gear that he passes out to everyone who is in attendance and intends on being a coach.

• I will be holding an informational meeting for all coaches prior to practices. This will cover what to expect and how to prepare for the upcoming season. I will also give you some information on ways to organize practice and how to deal with issues as they come up throughout the season.

• Friday Night Lights!!! This night is all about the youth program, where there is a mini scrimmage amongst your team during half time of a varsity game. As a coach, it will be your job to make sure you get as many of your team to this incredible night. Each player will have his name announced, and when the varsity team comes back on the field they will line up with the entire youth program and do their “Jumping JAGS”. Bring your camera and Camcorder, as this is a memorable event!

• Gear turn in. All coaches will assist the football board members on getting all issued gear back from their players. This must happen immediately following your last game.
